In early December 2020 Jay Shah, Secretary, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), visited the new Mullanpur International Cricket Stadium in Punjab.

Rajinder Gupta, president, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), and Secretary Puneet Bali also accompanied the BCCI Secretary on the tour of the under-construction Mullanpur Chandigarh International Cricket Stadium. Jay Shah’s visit to Mullanpur International Cricket Stadium in Punjab was a low-key affair keeping in view of the ongoing farmers’ protest against new farm bills.

As per reports from the Sources, the purpose of the BCCI secretary’s visit was to examine the possibility of developing a bio-bubble for hosting tournaments from January 2021 in Mullanpur Cricket Stadium Chandigarh. Various discussions were conducted with the stakeholders when BCCI Secretary gave some effective suggestions. The BCCI Secretary’s visit was ensured to keep it a low affair owing to the ongoing farmer’s protest and Covid scenario.
